Quite often we come across troubling error while archiving MS Outlook email messages. When you archive messages in Outlook 2000, you may receive the following error message:

Errors occurred while archiving. Look for a detailed report in your Deleted Items folder

And you get the detailed report as:

Error while archiving folder <folder name> in store <Folder Display Name>. The source and destination folders for this operation cannot be the same.

Cause

This behavior occurs because the personal folders (.pst) file that is used to archive the messages is open in the current Outlook profile. By design in Outlook 2000, the .pst file that is used to archive messages cannot be open while the archive process is in progress.

Resolution

In order to resolve this issue, close the PST file that is used for to archive messages and try to archive the messages again. To do this:

On the View menu, click Folder List.

Right-click the .pst file that is used to archive messages at the upper level, and then click Close <Folder Display Name>. This closes the .pst file and removes it from the Outlook profile.

Try the archive process again.

In case your PST file gets corrupt and you are unable to access the same, then try Kernel for PST Repair software to repair the PST file.

It is a very common question for many Outlook users that how to send the same email message to various recipients is such a way that one recipient cannot know the email address of other recipient. Every version of MS Outlook provides the facility to send the same email message to multiple recipients without revealing their identity. However, this article describes the process in Outlook 2007. The option in Outlook 2007 that enables an Outlook user to send the same email message to various recipients is called Blind Carbon Copy (BCC). Email addresses specified in the BCC field will receive a copy of original email message while the recipient can only see his/her email address. Following steps help you to know how to take advantage of Outlook’s BCC option:

1. Start MS Outlook 2007.
2. Select File > New > Mail Message or click CTRL + N.
3. In the To field specify your email address to receive a copy of email in your inbox.
4. In the BCC field specify all other email addresses. Separate email addresses using comma.
5. If you are not able to view the BCC field then select the Options tab and click the Show BCC option. The BCC field will be added in the compose mail message window.
6. After composing the email message, click the Send button to send the email message to the specified recipients.

This way you can send the same email message to multiple recipients without enlightening others’ email addresses.

Use Kernel for Outlook PST Repair software if you come across the PST damage due to any known and unknown reasons. The PST Repair software scans the damaged PST file and repairs it to provide you the lost data back in your hand. With Kernel for Outlook, you can repair the PST file created in MS Outlook 2007, Outlook 2003, Outlook 2002, Outlook XP, and Outlook 97.

When you restart MS Outlook after synchronizing your Outlook’s contact book with contacts in your iPhone using iTunes, you may receive following error message:

“Outlook file was not closed properly the last time it was used and it must be checked for errors.”

After viewing the error message, when you click the OK button to check the file for possible errors, MS Outlook does not display any error message but also does not allow you to access your email messages.

Cause

The aforementioned error message occurs when the Outlook.pst file gets damaged due to sync issues between iTunes and Outlook.

When working with MS Outlook, you may also receive messages in different languages. Usually, such messages are marked with the information related to character set used in the message but sometimes you may also get messages without this information. In such cases Outlook uses the default encoding specified for your computer. This default setting appears in the International Options dialog box.

In some cases the default setting may fail to work. To solve this issue, you will need to change the encoding of that specific message to the language that is used in the message. This will help Outlook to display the correct characters. To change encoding of a message, follow below mentioned procedure:

Change encoding of a received message

Open the message.

On the View menu, point to Encoding, and then click the character set (alphabet) you want to use.

Click Yes.

Change encoding of an outbound message (new, reply to, or forward)

Create or open the message.

On the Format menu, point to Encoding, and then click the character set you want to use.

This way you can change encoding of a received or outbound message in a very simple manner. Apart from this minor issue, sometimes you may also face PST file corruption and your work may get affected very badly. In such situation, you will need to take of a PST repair tool. An efficient PST repair tool can help you repair and recover emails and email folders from corrupt PST file.
